Going to Dusseldorf was an impulse decision so I couldn't prepare myself this time.
But for a quick tips, keep on reading please.
So for things to do;
Definitely try Altbier in Altstadt (Oldtown)
Any bar would do but for a historic experience, you can give it a try at Zum Uerige, Brauerei Ferdinand Schumacher or Zum Schiffchen. If you are wondering what altbier is, it is a local beer with a distinct texture.

"Zum Uerige"
After drinking the famouse beer, you can head to Et Kabüffke, where you are going to drink Killepitsch, which they sometimes do after beer. The taste of it is similar to Jager.

"Et Kabüffke"
Enough about drinking I guess :)
Now you can consider buying some local things from the Carsplatz Market, which is a food market, lots of seasonings, wine, coffee, etc options. You should also buy some local mustard from the famouse Mustard Museum. Löwensenf.

Wander around Altstadt, and head to the Little Tokyo area, where you will enjoy great Asian food. The ones we tried are;
-Na Ni Wa
-King Fusion

Definitely stop by at the shopping district which is called Koenigsalle.
Walk all the way of Rhine Promenade.

"Koenigsalle"
For other famouse food destinations are
-Bob & Mary's (Burger place)
-Fischhaus (for fish or lobster soup and mussels)
-Backerei Hinkel (pastries)
-Munstermann Kontor (for delicious Wienere Schnitzel)

"Munstermann Kontor"
Last but not least,
For great pubs and bars,
Hop in to
-Elephant Bar
-Bar Alexander
-Squarebar
-Bar Lounge M168
Hope you enjoyed.
