PART 1
MYTıLENE & SKALA ERESOU (June 2022)
What a beautiful island…
Full of history. A place that is mentioned in Greek mythology and a stop in the famous Trojan War story.

Skala Eresou
The name of the island has an importance too. If you are interested, you may check the history from here.
Other than that, let’s talk about the things that you can enjoy in Skala Eresou.
As I was going to the island from Turkey, I directly went to Mytilene by ferry with my own car. You may have to rent a car in the island to be able to wander around easily because it is a very large island and there are not many transportation options.
Before heading to Skala Eresou, I spent a little time in the city.
Here some cafes and restaurants you can check,
Gounaris - for the best ice cream
and please don't miss the,
From there I directly went to Skala Eresou, it took one and a half hour by car.
Driving in Lesvos is a very pleasant experience by the way.
The roads and the view are spectacular. So don't be afraid of driving on your own.
You are not going to need the car, once you are settled in to Skala Eresou, you can get to wherever you want on foot.
For accommodation, there are lots of pension options you can choose from.
All the hotels are affordable and kind a same.
But if you want something fancier, than you should check the Aeolian Village Beach Resort.

I stayed in Skala Eresou for 3 nights.
I wish I had more time, it was a beautiful village, very small but cozy.
After a while you got to greet people as it is a small village, and everyone is so friendly.
It will become like your own neighborhood. A great feeling indeed.
If it is summer, it is a great place to go swimming because the beaches of the Skala Eresou has a Blue Flag.
The beaches you can consider are
Aeolian Village Beach Resort (you can use the beach, you don't have to be the hotel customer)
Nudist Beach (if you are into it)

Now it is time to have some cocktails and chill

Parasol
Parasol (I definitely recommend this place. The food is amazing, the cocktails are superb. You can hang out in here day and night. You can have lunch or dinner, but most of all don’t miss the sunset. While having a pina colada, the sunset will get magical.)

For a touch of history, check out the
Last but not least,
A few Greek restaurants,
Aegean Aigaio (was my favorite one, the food was delicious, and the owner was so caring that you shouldn’t seize the opportunity.)
For fast food,
If you ever consider going to Lesvos Island, just try to spare some time to this village, it will worth it believe me.
